Board Game Company Threatens To Sue President Trump As They Defiantly Ramp Up Chinese Production Amid Tariffs
Stonemaier Games has shown in recent years they’ve been far more interested in political activism than games, and now instead of building infrastructure to produce their games in the United States, they’re defiantly producing even more in China and announcing they’re suing President Trump.
The board game industry has been in complete upheaval since President Trump announced his tariffs on China, with many of the major players in the industry crying that they’re going to be put out of business because they’re so reliant on cheap labor from foreign countries to produce their plastic bits.
Stonemaier Games is known for their rabid left wing activism, pushing an extreme agenda to the point they’ve edited their own games in the past. The company made a big apologetic video for including conquistadors in a Viticulture expansion after lesbian board game reviewers made a crying video about the game, claiming he would be altering his board game content simply because it would be “hurtful” to “Indigenous people.”
At the beginning of the month, company CEO Jamie Stegmaier made a rambling post about how tariffs were going to hurt board game companies. Now he’s going full fledged with a double down by not only announcing that he’s suing President Trump, but also that he’s shipping out more units from China soon in defiance fo the administration.
