Fantasy publishing has long been a medium that discriminates against white people, males in particular. With nearly every major magazine prioritizing black, Indigenous, and people of color, as they call their discriminatory practices, there seems to be no place where a white male author can get due consideration. Now, a new pro fantasy magazine that prides itself on “anonymous submissions” has signaled it will have a period of submissions where whites are not allowed.

Science fiction and fantasy publishing have created a fantasy in their heads about race. It’s been going on for more than a decade, with multiple publishers signaling against white males.
