As the comic industry continues to dwindle in sales and influence, the creators have become increasingly hostile to fans. Now, a former DC Comics editor has come forward to expose how comic professionals are embarrassed by their fans, who they believe are only interested in reading “slop.” 

Comic book professionals are notorious for having an entitled attitude toward their readership. Instead of being grateful that they can have careers doing glorified fan fiction of properties created over fifty years ago, like Spider-man and Batman, they act like being hired to do those jobs somehow makes them superior to others. It’s a bizarre mentality for people who rarely get much accolades from readership for works they create themselves.
