SFWA keeps becoming more ridiculous in its spiral into identity politics, and now it’s given the Damon Knight Memorial Grand Master award to a woman not known for her science fiction output but for being a disabled lesbian.

The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association has long since lost its relevancy in any regard, but the organization still exists and still gives themselves awards, which have increasingly been for identity rather than excellence in science fiction writing. The organization has been mired with controversy over the last few years as a result, with accusations of embezzling money for Patrick S. Tomlinson’s legal fees, funneling money to pro-Ukraine anthologies for political purposes, and even failing to address disability concerns for their workspaces which have led to board members resigning and amateur writers taking over the organization.
