A game that didn’t even release a trailer getting canned over DEI controversy is so real it almost feels surreal. It’s not that values shouldn’t be part of the conversation, but if a story hasn’t even been told yet and it's already stuck in ideological crossfire it’s hard to steer it back on track later. But honestly do you think this move is more about EA being afraid of losing money or just taking the opportunity to clear house?
I doubt it has anything to do with an executive decision. This is probably a problem from the seniors at the bottom level.
My opinion is that personalities within the studio clashed and leftists love their ultimatums. This is the reason why girl bosses rarely work out. No one respects the management and management doesn't respect the laborers. AI can't replace knuckleheads fast enough.
Sure, that’s one interpretation. But when dysfunction gets boiled down to “girl bosses” or “leftists” it starts sounding less like analysis and more like projection. Leadership problems are real, but they don’t get solved by turning them into culture war punchlines
I honestly didn’t see this one coming. EA’s history of shutting down studios delivers a win for the first time. Bioware next, please.
Insert picture of Nelson saying “Ha ha!” here.
I'll buy stock in the first restaurant chain to add "bigot sandwich" to the menu.
