Shooter will be hated even more by the insiders.

He speaks the truth, and truth is the Current Year's enemy.

American Mainstream Comics delenda est.

This is what happens when people whose base motivation is envy take over, whether it is an institution, company or fan base. The result is always the same. They eat it from the inside out. Whatever has gone before is demonised as representative of some form of ‘ism’.

These people cannot create, only destroy. They are happy to rule over a kingdom of ashes.

I’m glad more people are finally speaking out, jobs be damned! Now that Jim Shooter, a massive name in comics, has spoken up, I wonder if it will motivate more to do the same. I’ve never been one for character swapping and whatnot. Initially, I thought the movement was highlighting characters already in comics who weren’t seen, but I found out that wasn’t the case. It was a takeover with so many “shields” like, “if you don’t read my comics, you’re -insert ism-.” To me, this was never the way, and I got blacklisted for my thoughts. As a publisher, it sucked, but I knew my fans were real and not there because of fear or some DEI check-off.

Most of the hatred towards Jim Shooter was because he was the only tall man in an indusrty of short men.

Don't forget all the small men.

Kudos to shooter for what he accomplished, but he sounds like some milquetoast reluctant to admit that water is wet. Or maybe he's one of the many voices in the non-woke camp who just want to dial back the clock to the state of cultural rot setting in during the '90s.

Press X to doubt that Shooter wants the 90s back.

He earned his stripes under Mort Weisinger and E Nelson Bridwell at National in the late 60s, and took the helm as Editor in Chief at a floundering Marvel when so many others had failed taking over for Stan.

Only spike in Marvel sales since the 60s Marvel Bullpen was under his tenure, with the downward trend resuming once he was fired.

Actual Sigma who wanted to make great comics.

I could be very wrong--just the impression I got from that particular soundbite.

I'm not a mind-reader, but looking at Shooter's past actions, I'd bet he's not commented up to now publicly due to staying out of the pig wrassling. That said, my bet is that what he stated is a long-held belief, not a dodge. I could be wrong and happy to retract if I am mistaken about him.
