I used to live a few blocks away from Sanderson. The city has newer (wealthier) and older (renter-class) neighborhoods within fairly close proximity to one another.

Through the 2020 election season, the working class neighborhoods were overflowing with Trump signs. While there wasn't necessarily a corresponding enthusiasm for Biden specifically, the upper class neighborhoods did boast a fair few BLM and pride progress flags.

Virtue signaling about socially progressive luxury beliefs is an important feature of Utah's new Silicone Slopes aristocracy. You don't get invited to the cool kid's table unless you kiss Bryan Johnson's ring. That's not to say Sanderson's beliefs aren't sincere, but it is fascinating that the class divide is that sharp.
