This is the completely opposite statement of the one he needs to make - "James Gunn is fired.".

I disagree. Superman wasn't the best movie ever but it was entertaining. I enjoyed it. I wish the tone was a bit more serious but overall worth my time and money. Firing him sounds a bit extreme. It's the first one out of the gate. They can still course-correct. I'm not excited about the next movie based on what I saw at the end of the movie but I'm hoping to be wrong about that. I like superhero movies. I accept that they're not going to be everything I want every time. Just don't make it culturally divisive and I'll show up to watch it. It's a two hour escape from reality. Allow yourself to enjoy it.

Sounds like replacing "the American Way" with "the human way" to appeal to secular globalists around the world did not work. That's a lot of domestic success, though. The movie will probably break even or make some profit, and do okay as the start of Gunn's DCEU.

Gunns Superman costs 360 Million, we have the tax records to prove it. This movie needs to make 800 million to recoup it's costs, NOT break even. Theatres still need their cut, so to actually break even this thing needs to get closer to a hard Billion to even think about breaking even and making money, which we all know isn't going to happen.

Who cares if they make a profit or not? I want the movie to succeed so we get more superhero movies, but outside of that, these numbers mean nothing to a comic fan and a movie fan.

The studio can decide if breaking even or NOT breaking even is still a success if it sowing the seeds of trust for a potential, future audience.

If they go back to the DVD model before fast-tracking it to streaming, they can make their money back, I'm sure. There have been lots of box office flops that have sequels and large fan followings because of post box office strength.

Studios have to stop counting on streaming subscriptions that never appear or aren't sustained, because they were the first platform to carry a hot movie. It takes money out of the pockets of the creators who would benefit from the secondary viewing market sales and takes money away from retailers who would make some money selling the DVDs before it hits the streaming platform.

I never heard either slogan in the movie. Maybe they changed it and then took it out. Who knows. I wish they would have said "the American Way". I'm glad they didn't say "the human way", but I don't care. It's a pretty good movie.
